Circa 1920-30's, this very unusual Weller Pottery Art Deco vase is 7.5" tall and 7" in diameter. Braided handles, it is decorated on the front with a mermaid atop a dolphin and on the back is a seahorse. Glazed in a darker black metallic glaze with brown highlights, it is in excellent factory original condition. No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Unmarked, the same shape in a different glaze can be found on page 85 in the Weller book, Weller Pottery The Rare, The Unusual, The Seldom Seen.
