Condition Continued: There is a tiny tear off the top edge of one early page. This page also has a crease at its top corner, and there is one very tiny tear off the bottom edge of the page facing it. I didn't see any other tears on any of the pages. Again, these two are tiny (1/8th inch, 1/4 inch). I didn't see any conspicuous creasing on any of the other pages. One of the last pages had the tip of its top corner folded in. I flattened it out. A few pages before and after have a light shape of this tiny crease just below the tips of their top corners. The pages look very clean. Scrolling through I'm not finding any conspicuous soiling. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere.

Editions du Seuil, Paris, France, 1959. Hardcover. First Printing in French (NAP). 151 photographs reproduced in heliogravure. William Klein was hired by Federico Fellini as an assistant on the filming of Nights of Cabiria. Klein's photography paints a portrait of the Italian capital.
The book is priced quite conservatively in comparison to the few other 1959 French first editions.
William Klein was ranked 25th on Professional Photographer's list of 100 most influential photographers. This was his second book. It was cited in Andrew Roth's The Book of 101 Books: Seminal Photographic Books of the Twentieth Century.
