This is an original press photo. Lafayette Hotel at 628 St. Charles: A new lease on life. The old Lafayette Hotel at 628 St. Charles Avenue has received a new lease on life. Two young local businessmen have leased the building and plan a total renovation of the hotel and its image, which for years has been that of a run-down, second-class hotel. William F. Ryan, a lawyer and chairman of the board of the New Orleans Rodeo Corporation and real estate businessman Patrick J. Eagan have entered into a 62-year lease with the heirs of Adam Wirth, who own the Lafayette Hotel property. Photo measures 10 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 04-11-1981.
