Japanese Made, Considering its age the pen is in excellent cosmetic condition, There is no button or lever so I am assuming it is an eye dropper, The barrel imprint reads " 'PILOT' THEPILOTPEN, the letter R encased in a circle, MFG. CO. LTD. MADE IN JAPAN," as shown in the images, The end trim jewels are in excellent condition, The nib is gold plated (steel) which, from what I have read was normal for wartime pens in Japan and not solid gold, The engraving reads "Best Quality Pilot (2) Made In Japan," There is wear and tarnish to the nib to be expected, I have not tested the pens filling mechanism but have dip tested it and it writes with a fine (at times scratchy) line.
