Description: Source unknown, to be determined. Rare de Wit ed. with added street names and reworked cartouche.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Frederick te Wit' after 'Joan Blaeu'. This plate by Frederik de Wit. Frederik/Frederick de Wit (Amsterdam 1630-1706), was a famous engraver and publisher in Amsterdam. He acquired many of the printing plates of Blaeu and Janssonius when it came to auction. His map were very popular because of the quality of the engravings and the beautiful colouring. After his death his work was re-issued by Pieter Mortier and Covens & Mortier.

Condition: Very good, given age. Nice dark inking. Original middle fold. No text on rear. Stamps on rear. Two small holes in top right of print, near middle fold. Light creasing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 66 x 52.8 cm. The image size is ca. 52.5 x 42 cm. Size (in inch): The overall size is ca. 26 x 20.8 inch. The image size is ca. 20.7 x 16.5 inch.
