【About products】
This is a Japanese sword guard call TSUBA that is believed to have been made in the Edo period.
This is a large sword guard with Warabi-te patterns on the four corners of the iron ground.
The Warabi-te pattern, which is based on the shape of bracken sprouting, is also found on Jomon pottery. It is one of the ancient designs. The early warabi sprouting from the soil in early spring may have been a symbol of the breath of life.
There is a silver inlay of a butterfly and one gold inlay of a flower on the reverse side, and there are traces of removal, suggesting that there may have been four inlays.
