Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Pierre-Gabriel Berthault' after 'Jacques-Francois-Joseph Swebach'. Pierre-Gabriel Berthault (1748-1819) was a French engraver born in Saint-Maur. He was active in Rome under the protection of Count Tesse, where he worked with Saint-Non. At the age of 69 he was confined by Napoleon the direction over the enormous work on Egypt. Jacques Francois Joseph Swebach-Desfontaines (French; 1769-1823) specialised in battle scenes. He was also active as a decorator in the porcelain-manufacture.

Condition: Very good, given age. Light foxing. Some small stains in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
