This is an original press photo. Warsaw, Poland: Polish Communist leaders appeared today to have won their struggle for "independence" from the Soviet Union. A new politburo has been elected on their own terms and the Kremlin-picked Army Chief and Defense Minister, Marshal Konstantin Rokossovsky (shown) has been ousted as a member of the all-powerful body. Rokossovsky was dismissed despite the wishes of Soviet Communist Party Chief Nikita S. Khrushchev, who reportedly said he would use force if the Marshal were not retained.
