1989 Press Photo Nomadic herding family outside tent in Karakorum, Mongolia

This is an original press photo. Chultem Tumurbaatap, and his wife Bavuu Sanjaasuren hold two of their three children outside thir new "ger," or tent, on the grasslands near the small town of Karakorum in Mongolia. Here in the countryside, semi-nomadic herding remains the main way of life. Photo measures 11.5 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 1-4-1989.
