This is a sweet lidded nickel plated "Guernsey' jug from the early 1900s. It has wonderful wicker / cane handles. The jug measures approximately 4.5 w (top of handle) has a 2 inch opening and a 2.5 inch base. Marked on reverse LBS Co.
The jugs were used for a dual purpose: to be used as milk cans for the collection of the milk; and also to serve milk. Its rotund design meant during transportation any splashing inside would curve in on itself and so prevent spillage.
The item is an antique and is sold as is. The item may show wear, fading, pitting, scratches, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
