Description - Delightful late 19th century solid silver tobacco/ snuff box of oval lobed form with a hinged lid

lid embellished with detailed embossed and hand chased winged cherubs among foliage 

silver-gilt (gold washed) interior.

Fully hallmarked with anchor for Birmingham assay, lion passant indicating 925 grade solid silver, date letter "y" for the year 1898 and the maker's mark "D & F" which is Deakin & Frances.

Condition - Generally good condition, there are a few bums and some minor rubbing holes to the embossed decoration which are only visible by holding the box up to a light source 

hinge tight and closes the lid securely

interior gilding is bright but has become thin
