U.S. Import De Minimis Exemption Suspension

Effective August 29, 2025, the de minimis exemption for low-value shipments (under $800 USD) to the U.S. has been suspended meaning all U.S. imports, regardless of value, origin, or entry mode, will be subject to applicable U.S. duties and taxes that may be charged to the receiver of the goods.

This change has resulted in a substantial rise of formal customs clearances, which has led to increased processing times and delays particularly for shipments that require other government agencies like FDA eligible shipments.
