A genuine Egyptian jewel, this vintage 800 silver pin pendant was likely a souvenir from a trip to Cairo. At the center is openwork imagery of the sphinx in front of the 3 pyramids of Giza. A smiling sun and palm tree complete the design. The centerpiece is cleverly mounted like a coin in the lacy edge pin. On the back are a tube style pin mechanism and a bail.

Measurements: over 1-3/4” in diameter excluding the bail. Quarter in photo for size comparison.

Hallmarks: the pin stem, bail, front bead, and back of the centerpiece are stamped with Egyptian touchmarks for 800 silver. I believe it is from Alexandria.

Excellent condition with some hard-to-reach tarnish in the lacy details.
