You are looking at a full unused ticket for the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets which took place on December 26, 1971 at the Forum.

Unbeknownst to anyone, the Lakers were in the late stages of the greatest run of victories in a season in NBA history, an incomparable 33-game winning streak. Even more, it is the longest winning streak in the four major American sports.

The Rockets kept the game close until the second half, when the Lakers blew the Rockets out. Elvin Hayes went for 33/14, and Lakers’ fans favorite in-game commentator Stu Lantz scored 28 for the visitors. Wilt Chamberlain had 14 points and 13 boards, but Jerry West was the star of the game, scoring 34 points and dishing 17 assists. Happy Hairston snagged 21 rebounds.

The original owner of this ticket missed the 28th victory of the Lakers 33-game streak. It has been over 50 years and the closest any team has come to equaling the record in a single season is the Heatles with 27 a decade ago.

This is a PSA pop 0 for both stub and full versions of the ticket from this game.

Please take a look at the scans for condition. This ticket displays paper clip indentations that are sometimes difficult to see in scans. I have been a long time ticket collector and will be posting many additional tickets in the coming weeks. The item you see pictured is the actual item you will receive.
