Ceramic pottery vessel believed of African origins.
    * Shape: globular with flaring stem and opening
    * Bottom is rounded everywhere.
    * Gold specks visible as temper.    
    * Close examination of surface reveals a dark
      brown with a glossier black surface or patina
      in most areas. Dark brown areas are visible
      near rim on outside as well as on inside.
      Outside except for near rim is almost
      entirely black. Very bottom of vessel on the inside is only
      area where this glossy black is not present -
      possibly because of the action that utensils
      would have upon stirring etc.
    * Height 7"     
    * Maximum diameter 6 1/2"     
    * Maximum width at rim 5 1/4"         
    * Approx. thickness at lip of rim 3/8"
    * A few small chips near rim otherwise in appears in
       perfect condition
    * Chipped areas reveal a generally dark
         brown interior
    * No hairline cracks visible
    * Age unknown but appears to be at least some what old
    * Generally a very substantial appearance.
    * Does not include the silver metal stand.
