1940's High School Annual featuring the graduating seniors, faculty, sports,
activities, local advertisement, pictures of the school and surrounding, and
literature; and including future actor and American icon Peter Falk who appears
in this issue as president of his freshman class! Falk's father owned a dry goods store and advertised in this annual. Wonderful photos and vintage World War Two era design.
Peter Falk has won five Emmy Awards, two Academy
Award nominations, and one Golden Globe Award. Some of his films include:
Pressure Point, Pocket Full of Miracles, Murder Incorporated, Robin and the
Seven Hoods, The Great Race, It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World, The In-Laws, The
Cheap Detective; films by John Cassavetes A Woman Under the Influence, Nicky and
Mikey, Husbands, and Opening Night; and Wim Wenders films Wings of Desire and
Far Away So Close. His television roles include: Twighlight Zone, Kraft
Suspense Theatre, Have Gun Will Travel, The Trials of O'Brien; and he is much
remembered for his top billing for the long-running tv series Columbo. To me this book includes the best of the young Falk photos which shows the future actor's great exuberance.
Good to Very Good condition hardback with tight binding and text and clean
pages, with no must or mildew or missing pieces, with some shelf wear to the cover, and the year written on the spine (most likely this was previously in the school library collection). Solid.
Wonderful annual
giving a true historic look at the early life and times of one of film and television's favorite actors. Just waiting for a nice home!
