Henschke is a family-owned, 153-year-old Australian winery, located in Keyneton, South Australia in the Eden Valley wine region.  A proud member of Australia's First Families of Wine, The Henschke family has been making exceptional wine since Johann Christian Henschke planted a small vineyard at Keyneton in 1862.

The Abbotts Prayer label links together the history, religion and farming of this mountainous region. The property along Coldstore Road, Lenswood, including historic vineyards in the area, was originally known as Abbotts Flat, and was established in the mid-1800s with the first land purchases by stock-owner Thomas Neilson Mitchell.

Henschke's Abbotts Prayer is produced on Stephen and Prue Henschke’s Lenswood vineyard in the Adelaide Hills.

Henschke Abbotts Prayer 2019 vintage comprises 58% merlot, 42% cabernet sauvignon. Matured in 21% new and 79% seasoned French hogsheads for 18 months prior to blending and bottling.

Deep crimson with garnet hues. Fragrant aromas of cassis, violets, mulberry and red currant with notes of anise, cigar box and crushed herbs. A complex and textural palate, with layers of dark briar berries and spice over tamarillo and cedar, excellent balance and depth, and long, fine-grained, elegant tannins.
