Postage block "Heroic professions. Iron men” is the second issue after the issue of “Warriors of Light. Warriors of Good" in the series "Heroic Professions", which is dedicated to the selfless work of people of various specialties for the victory of Ukraine. With a philatelic novelty, we pay tribute to the railway workers, who became a symbol of steadfastness and stability, because despite a large-scale invasion, they manage to: evacuate people from the combat zone, establish uninterrupted freight and passenger traffic, provide timely fire and repair assistance in the elimination of the consequences of rocket attacks, restore connections to de-occupied bridge. The actions of railway workers during the shelling of Kherson on May 3, 2023 are one of the examples of heroism and courage. Then, amid the air panic and chaos, they coordinated and professionally unhooked the burning carriage, provided medical aid to the conductor and quickly boarded the passengers in the surviving carriages. Train No. 109 Kherson-Lviv left Kherson station with a delay of only 14 minutes. And on May 4 at 10:18, minute by minute according to the schedule, it arrived to Lviv.
