Our detector allows you to verify that the invisible Low E coating has been properly installed into your double glazed unit and subsequently that the double glazed unit has been correctly fitted when installed in your home, conservatory or office.


This device is ideal for manufacturers, installers and surveyors but is probably the most affordable on the market for the general public who are unsure if their windows have been fitted correctly or if they have been supplied K Glass at all!!.

It is alleged that upto 30% of installations by small independent companies are done incorrectly according to a recent survey, your home may not be energy efficient because of this. Why pay £1000's for the latest double glazing and not check that it is installed correctly or you have actually got what you have paid for?

Most people are unaware that effective 1st April 2002 - all new window installations in England & Wales are subject to BUILDING REGULATIONS (Document L).

This regulation in particular affects the minimum levels of insulation that windows must have when fitted in your home. Levels of insulation are measured as U values. The lower the U value, the better the insulation level. To get the required level of insulation some sort of LOW E glass (typically Pilkington K in the UK - although there are other brands) will have to be used.

If you have had a new installation since this date or have been sold windows or a conservatory advertised as K Glass then these detectors are a must.

These detectors are simple to use and are compatible with 4-10mm thick single panes of glass as well as double glazed units.
