DC BOMBSHELLS: POISON IVY SEPIA TONE VARIANT STATUE

This exclusive Poison Ivy “Sepia Tone" variant is part of a Bombshells limited-edition series designed to evoke the color tone that was frequently found in photos of the past. The warm hues and reduced color palette evoke feelings of nostalgia, which is a perfect fit for this statue of Poison Ivy, coyly sitting in a garden of thorns and deadly flowers.

Inspired by vintage pinup art, the DC BOMBSHELLS statue line features DC superheroes during World War Il, and also launched the DC Comics series of the same name.

The DC Bombshells concept was due to a chance encounter between DC Collectibles representatives and Ant Lucia, an artist known for the Pin-Up girl style of the 1940s/50s. Their collaboration resulted in the popular DC Bombshells comic series, and the related Funko Pops, Action Figures, and Statues. In 2013, the Poison Ivy Bombshells statue was unveiled to critical acclaim, and its popularity has continued since then. There are always a couple dozen or more for sale on the major sales platforms - eBay, Mercari, Amazon, etc.

The sepia variant is another story. It was released in 2019, and quickly became a favorite for collectors. Sepia coloring was chosen as it is reminiscent of vintage photographs. It is rare to see more than one or two available, and that is worldwide!
