Genuine original French vitreous enamel on sheet steel house number. QUATER means second alternative. Perhaps a basement apartment or outbuilding. Anything QUATER is an uncommon address. To have an enamel number prepared with QUATER is exceptionally uncommon. Usually a separate QUATER plate is added. This is the only such examples I have ever seen in thirty years. 5½” x 8¾”. Heavy gauge with the white enamel in light relief. Abandoned new old stock from Orleans. Not made yesterday. Examples of this weight and quality are no longer to be found. I have some numbers 1-40 and most 41-250. All are this size and pattern. An apparent gap in a panel of 8 does not mean that the number is unavailable. Buried among others and yet to be listed or already here somewhere. Many yet to be sorted, photographed and added. Please let me know which other numbers you are looking for and I will give them priority. Thousands in stock - please let me know if this is not the number, style or size you're looking for. Or take a look at my other listings. |
