The commemorative coin is dedicated to the collective, which formed powerful choral traditions, its own performance style and represents Ukrainian vocal and choral art during numerous tours. Created in 1919 as the State Ukrainian Traveling Band (from the initial letters of which the name comes), it forms a unique Slavic version of the interpretation of Western European classics, filled with lyricism, the beauty of timbres, and the dynamism of the palette. Currently, the repertoire of the chapel consists of music for a cappella choirs (arrangements of folk songs, Western European music), vocal-symphonic music (J. Bach, L. Beethoven, J. Verdi), as well as works of modern Ukrainian composers (E. Stankovych, V. Sylvestrov, L. Dychko, M. Skoryk).
The obverse of the coin features: a small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, to the right of which is the inscription UKRAINE; a stylized composition: on a mirror background – sunflower flowers, one of which is colored (used pad printing), between which a tuning fork and the inscription 100/YEAR, the color logo of the National Merited Academic Chapel of Ukraine "Dumka" (used pad printing), under which the denomination and the year of minting - UAH 5/2019, inscriptions in a semicircle: NATIONAL HONORED ACADEMIC CHAPEL OF UKRAINE; logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (right).
The reverse of the coin features: on the left – on a matte background, a sheet of music with a treble clef and the inscription 1919/2019 at the top; on the mirror background - figures of performers, above and below - sunflower flowers.
