This is the nicest copy of this original red label edition we have ever seen.
The box is intact and looks nice except for a bit of rubbing on front and a slightly damaged corner at the upper left (see pictures). The records are shiny with very light signs of use. Most sides grade at NM- with a light scuff or 2. The only exception is the side with Sonata Number 2, which has a couple more marks than other sides, but nothing terrible and the side still grades at strong VG+. All original inner sleeves are included in excellent condition.
This is a rare and highly sought-after box set of 6 Sonatas & Partitas for Violin Alone by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by Joseph Szigeti on vinyl. This first edition and first pressing from 1956 on Vanguard Records, catalog number BG 627/9, is in excellent condition (EX) for both the record and sleeve grading.
The 3LP set is housed in a box and includes detailed information about the performance and recording. The music is presented in mono and played on a 12" record at 33RPM. This is a must-have for any classical music or vinyl record collector, and a great addition to any music library.
