Stuart De Haro  showcases a Shars 2" boring head and introduces some of the things you need to do to set up and adjust the boring head, as well as take multiple passes of different depths.
  • Compared to the generic boring head on the market, the main lead screw has minimum amount of backlash in 10 graduation while the generic model has around 15 graduation. Smaller backlash allows the operator to be able to dial in on the desired travel much easier.
  • Internal bore within H7 specification to give tight fitting with cutting's shank
  • 1 division is equaled to 0.001" travel in diameter
  • 10 division of backlash

  • Boring head seating surface is precision ground finished to 0.0002" TIR
  • To achieve AT3 or better taper contact as an industry standard, our taper surface are precision ground on Shigiya CNC grinder from Japan.  The surface roughness on the taper is maintained to mirror finish.

Thread Grinding



The 1-1/2x8 threads are precision grind on a CNC grinder to ensure proper thread tolerance and engagement with a boring head.
