Robert Hinshelwood, engraver
(1812-1875)

after an oil painting by

Mauritz Frederick  Henrik de Haas
(1832-1895)

The actual image measures 9" x 12 3/4"
Printed on heavy paper measuring 12 1/2" x 16 1/4"
Nothing printed on reverse.
It is my understanding that this is a steel engraving.

My photo of the entire sheet is rather poor, having been done with an old digital camera. The other illustrations in this listing are all much more accurate SCANS, which reveal the fine detail of the work. Got it?

Image is sharp and clean, with no markings.
Several very faint spots in the margins do not affect the fine image.
Will frame beautifully!

This may be from The Art Journal, circa 1870s.
I will include a page of text describing the work

I have been unable to ascertain the current location of de Haas's original oil painting,
which makes this work only more intriguing!

This is absolutely guaranteed to be an original 19th Century engraving,
absolutely NOT any type of modern reproduction.

My family has been in the antiques and design business since 1955!
