"Concepts" explains the term "Allergy Free" and the "24 Kt. Gold Plating" Process.

Approximately 60% of all women with pierced ears suffer from "allergic Contact Dermatitis" caused by nickel alloy, plating or other irritants common in pierced earrings, but not with "Concepts".  Beautifully comfortable "Concepts" are made so that ALL parts that touch the ear will not cause irritations.  Light weight & guaranteed - "Concepts" have been the fashion solution for people with sensitive ears since 1973.  Nickel is present in virtually all metals, but the potential to cause an allergic reaction is determined by the density of the metal, or how tightly the nickel is bound into the metal.  Gold for instance is a very porous and soft metal and nickel is often one of the alloys used for hardness and brightness in 10Kt. 14Kt. 18Kt. or gold-plated products.  Because gold is porous, nickel may be released onto the skin and cause an allergic reaction for millions of people who have sensitivity to nickel.  "Concepts" silver-tone earrings are highly polished surgical stainless steel, and "Concepts" gold-toned earrings have a heavy layer of 24Kt. gold electroplated directly to stainless steel.
