Here is a World War I Imperial German Army Photo Post Card. The Field Posted Photo Post Card depicts the 1st Company of Reserve Infantry Regiment 239. The confident, proud, but beginning to feel the strain of War soldiers feature at least 8 men wearing the Iron Cross Second Class Ribbon. The card is filled out, features the cancellations and an addressee who received this. This is one of the best conditioned Imperial Post Cards I have located. The Cancellation and Sentiment are dated 1916. Reflecting on the photo, you wonder how many of these men made it to the day "all was quiet on the Western Front"? Two more years that saw the introduction of fresh American Doughboys would be more then a stretch if half made it home. It is in fair plus condition and 107 years old.
