Jim Kinkcaid was a News correspondent for ABC News who reported on Vietnam in 1969 at the height of the Vietnam war. In 1978 he left ABC to become the Local News Anchor for WVEC in Norfolk Virginia for over 18 years. He was the author of several books with collections of his humorous anecdotes. He passed away of a heart attack on July 17, 2011 at the age of 76. He lived a good life.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: If you think you see a "pen scribble" on the cover by the bottom of Jim's tie you are correct -- that's because the page after the signed inscription page mentioned above says: This is a limited and numbered edition of 999 copies. Signed by the Author, Jim Kincaid and by the cover artist (that's the "pen scribble" on the cover) Frank Kelly from Freas on a tipped-in sheet with cover illustration. This copy is number 732. ... and below that ... Jim Kinkcaid signed again.
