 On this listing we offer the "bitStork MOD450LED" kit, which allows to repair your beloved KENWOOD TS-450S and TS-690S transceivers. It replaces the original CFL back-light LAMP.

This listing includes:

  • bitStork MOD450DIM Module (with polymer fuse),
  • bitStork MOD450LED Warm-White Back-Light LED STRIP on specially designed metal pad - a replacement for the broken TS-450S, TS-690S CFL Lamps,
  • Electronic copy (pdf document) of "Step-By-Step" repair manual (photo-history of the real TS-850S BackLight modification).
After this kit installation You will also have the possibility to disable/remove the original noisy (high voltage) CFL converter in your radio (the MOD450LED's power is supplied from the 13V source).

Neither the KENWOOD TS-450S (TS-690S) radio s nor the display (shown on pictures) are NOT the part of this auction!

Installation notes:

The MOD450LED modification is a relatively easy fix. It can be installed with a simple soldering equipment and low soldering experience only. A set of screwdrivers, tweezers and a precise soldering iron should be enough to install this kit. The is a need to drill in the mounting plastic part of the old LCD. All details are described in the modification manual (pdf file), which will be send to your email address after the purchase (actually at the day of shipping the LED kit).

You have the right to return the product according to EU law (for individual EU customers only!), if it is in the original condition and the "bitStork" seal is not broken.
