The folios, unpaginated, show scenes of World War I on one page with a facing page of text for each drawing. Bone, a Scottish etcher, specialized military and architectural drawing. This work portrayed the war about as close to real time as could be achieved, with an introduction by a British commander, Douglas Haig.
