Vintage Rorstrand Sweden 'Kadett' Cup & Saucer - Hertha Bengston - Mid-Century. Raspberry Red.

An incredible example of mid-century design. This Cup & Saucer is a must have for all design lovers and Mid-Century collectors.

Of all the mid century Rörstrand ceramic lines Kadett is perhaps the most Scandinavian modern. All lines on the cups were hand drawn and therefore each line is different from the next and no cup is identical!

This style was born around 1955.

Kadett was made in three joyful colors: raspberry (often simply called red) dark jeans blue and mustard (often simply called yellow).

Rorstrand founded the Arabia brand until these sold it to a Finnish company in 1916?

The cups are all stamped Rörstrand Sweden and KADETT although being with different ink colors. The saucers are stamped Rörstrand Sweden only. The shapes of both the cups and saucers were used for many different mid century Rörstrand (mostly coffee only) lines, such as Venezia, Curtis, Tango, Eden, Mia, Brita, Paloma, Elvira, Fenix, Amanda, Pontus, Iris, Anemon and some others as well!
