Sir John Cornwall, Lord Fanhope, Original Engraving Early Impression Circa 1840.  This is a hand painted plate.

This appears to be a plate removed from a book, I believe "Meyricks Medieval Knights and Armour," by Samuel Rush Meyrick.  Not sure which edition, possibly circa 1840's?  It is marked "Plate XLVIII" in the top right hand corner.  This plate has been roughly mounted to a handmade cardboard frame, with paper over the back of the plate.

In good condition; there is staining and discoloration to the frame, plate and cardboard, tears and wear to the edges of the upper frame and the mounting.  It looks like masking tape was used to hold the paper and plate to the frame; some portions may have torn in places or separated.  Please refer to the photos for condition and detail.

Measures approx. 13.25" x 18"
