Alanis Morisette is a Canadian-American singer, songwriter, and actress. Known for her emotive vocals and confessional songwriting, Morissette began her career in Canada in the early 1990s with two highly successful dance pop albums. In 1995, she released Jagged Little Pill, an alt rock album, earning her the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1996, later made into a rock musical in 2017, which earned 15 Tony Award nominations including Best Musical. The album was also listed in the 2020 edition of Rolling Stone's Greatest Albums of All Time Guide. Her follow-up was the electronic-infused Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie in 1998.
