🔥 BEFORE USE THE WOK, PLEASE SEASON THE WOK FIRST
This wok has no non-stick coating. Seasoning (also called "opening the wok" / 开锅) builds the natural protective layer that makes it non-stick — it is a required first step, not optional.

🔨 Cast Iron Wok
| Aspect | Wok — Wrought / Carbon Iron | Cast Iron (for comparison) |
|---|---|---|
| How it's made | Pressed / hammered from sheet iron | Poured into a mould (cast) |
| Wall thickness | Thick, heavy gauge (thicker than typical wrought iron woks) | Thick, uniform cast wall |
| Heat response | Heats up and cools down relatively quickly — responsive to heat changes | Heats slowly, retains heat longer, slower to respond |
| Durability | Malleable — can dent but strongly resists cracking | Brittle — can crack or chip if dropped |
| Coating | No coating — builds natural non-stick patina through seasoning | Usually no coating — also seasoned, but surface is more porous |
| Typical use | Classic stir-fry / high-heat Chinese wok cooking | Skillets, Dutch ovens, slow / even-heat cooking |
⭐ Key Features & Benefits
Wrought / Carbon Iron — Not Cast Iron
Genuine wrought/carbon iron construction, not cast iron. Extra-thick gauge for durability while keeping the responsive heat control wrought iron is known for.
No Coating — No Worries About Sticking
There's no non-stick coating to wear off or flake. The reactive iron surface forms its own protective layer with use — the longer you use it, the better it works.
Thick & Heavy Gauge
A noticeably thicker, heavier build than typical thin wrought iron woks — built for durability and steady heat retention during cooking.
Seasoning Builds Over Time
Seasoning is required before first use, and the non-stick patina keeps improving the more you cook with it.
4 Sizes to Choose From

🔥 Before First Use — Seasoning Steps (Required)
Please season the wok before cooking with it for the first time. Follow these steps in order:
- Use a sponge dipped in neutral detergent to clean the wok thoroughly.
- Rinse with cold or lukewarm water and wipe off all moisture with a cloth.
- Reduce the fire to low-to-medium heat and pour in a tablespoon of olive oil.
- Put chopped vegetables into the wok and fry for 2-3 minutes. Once the vegetables are fully coated in oil and thoroughly fried, remove them — this step helps form the wok's initial protective layer.
🧽 Daily Use & Maintenance
- Before cooking, preheat the wok body on low heat, then add cold oil to the hot pan to achieve physical non-stick ("hot pan, cold oil").
- In the early period of use, cook more fried or seared meat dishes. Avoid boiling a lot of water, cooking soup, or cooking tomatoes early on, as this can break down the oil film.
- After each use, let the wok cool to a temperature you can comfortably touch, then clean with a sponge and detergent. Do not use steel balls or other sharp/abrasive scrubbers — they will damage the seasoned oil film.
- After cleaning, place the wok back on the stove over medium-low heat to fully dry off any remaining water, then apply a thin layer of cooking oil while it's still warm.
💡 Pro Tip: The more you use and maintain the wok this way, the better and more non-stick the seasoning layer becomes over time. Avoid soaking the wok for long periods and always dry it fully before storing to prevent rust.
🎯 Good to Know
Stir-Frying
Ideal for classic high-heat stir-fry cooking once properly seasoned.
Best Early Uses
Favour frying and searing meat/vegetable dishes in the first period of use to help build up the seasoning layer.
Avoid Early On
Avoid boiling lots of water, cooking soups, or cooking tomatoes early in the wok's life — acidic or watery cooking can break down a fresh oil film.
No Abrasive Scrubbers
Never clean with steel wool or sharp/abrasive scrubbers — this strips the seasoning layer and can cause sticking and rust.
