This makes them the preferred glove when there is risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens or other environmental contaminants. Nitrile provides a stronger barrier of protection and offer greater chemical resistance. These gloves are commonly used in laboratories, hospitals and dentists and in the care environment but are also used in the automotive market where a thicker more puncture resistant nitrile glove is used to protect against oil and engine lubricants. Nitrile rubber is more resistant than natural rubber to chemicals, oils and acids, and has superior strength. Nitrile gloves also have a lower level of friction, meaning that these gloves can be worn for longer durations than other gloves
