Original fine art oil painting on canvas 'Sad Girl' by Robert Marquiss with black studio frame. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.  Originally intended to show that our emotions affect our surroundings.  Sad Girl is an oil I painted in 2017 but finished in 2020 after the pandemic hit.  All told it took over three months to paint.  By the time I finished it, many people had lost their jobs. Stores in LA were boarded up and our freedom of travel was taken away.  And sadly many people died.  I put a mask on her to show how sad things were at that time.  It's a dated piece as it commemorates one of the roughest times in the US.  It's a piece of our history.
* This painting just won a place in the Artists For A Better World "The Beauty of Human Rights" Virtual Gallery! *
This work looks magnificent in a gold frame available separately from any custom framer.  Realize, also, that this photo doesn't quite do the painting justice.

I was looking through someof old art papers and found a letter sent to my gallery in the Bryn Mawr Theatre Buildingin Bryn Mawr, PA. It was from James Dean, Curator of Artat the Smithsonian Institution, National Air and Space Museum.I was honored that he came and saw my work. He invited me to come and see himat the museum. I went and talked to him. What a brilliant man. We talked abouta lot of things he wanted my help with. He said to me in his letter, “I mustsay that very few can rival the quality of your imagination, and your paintingskill is among the finest.” He also said, “You have helped me greatly” in hisletter. At that point I felt like part of the Museum. Now I consider myself oneof the best artists in the US.If you are an art collector, it would be good to have a letter from a Curatorof Art to validate your art piece.
