A terrific double-page ad (11” by 17”) for KING KONG (the 1933 classic with stop-motion by Willis O’Brien, the man who inspired Ray Harryhausen).

It’s contained in KINE WEEKLY 21st August 1952. A scarce British trade magazine, originally distributed to film distributors and cinema managers. It consequently had a low print run and not many copies survive today. Cinema trade magazines contained attractive full-page and double-page ads which were intended to be removed by cinema managers and displayed as posters to promote forthcoming attractions or to announce trade shows. These trade posters are often more rare than the full-size posters themselves.

In good condition; Some light water staining to some pages but the ads are largely unaffected. 40 pages..

Cover: Robert Taylor, Stewart Granger.

Inside: double-page ad for MUTINY (Angela Lansbury, Patric Knowles); full-page ads for LOST IN ALASKA (Abbott and Costello), MEET ME TONIGHT (Stanley Holloway), RAINBOW ROUND MY SHOULDER (Frankie Laine), LURE OF THE WILDERNESS (Jeffrey Hunter, SON OF PALEFACE (Bob Hope, RoyRogers); plus studio news, long reviews of all the latest films, ads, gossip and more.
