It is a new line that proposes a new style of comfort shoes that have been pursued for many years. Lace-up boots "ORINAGA" accented with hook eyelets. The straight cuts and stitchwork incorporate elements from MoonStar's Leather Shoes Archive.
"MoonStar" is one of the three major rubber processed product manufacturers in Japan with a history of more than 140 years since its establishment. In addition to sneakers made by the Vulcanize method, we are also good at making leather shoes for public demand, focusing on the shoemaking technology that has continued for a long time, and the new series "SHINARI" produced in Japan (Saga factory). MoonStar's new line of men's models released in 2021 expresses the comfort shoes that have been pursued for many years in a new style.
This "ORINAGA" is a high-cut type of the model named "ORIKATA" that was released earlier. High-quality leather is used for the upper, and lace-up (monkey) boots featuring hook eyelet accents, a straight cut at the mouth, and stitch work at the heel. The voluminous sole that covers the lower part of the upper heel uses a urethane sole that is lightweight and has excellent cushioning properties, and the heel that protrudes slightly behind is shaped like a "burr" that appears during molding. The patch exists as an icon of the manufacturing method. Leather shoes with a unique sole shape that feels like light and supple sneakers.
DUS method The DUS (Direct Urethane Soling) method is one of the techniques that MoonStar has continued to polish to produce comfortable shoes. Most of the shoe manufacturing methods are "sew" and "glue" the upper and sole, but it is a special manufacturing method that attaches the "direct" sole. The liquid sole material that adheres tightly to the last causes a chemical reaction, and molding and bonding are performed at the same time, creating a sense of unity between the shoe and the foot. The heel patch in the shape of the "burr" that appears during molding is an icon of the manufacturing method.
