The coin was minted in 1981.

He regained the royal crown thanks to his military talents and by supporting the Pope in the investiture conflict with the emperor. He also had influence over installing rulers of Ruthenia and Hungary, and successfully stopped the German empire's eastward expansion. However, Boleslaw lost his throne (1079) as a result of a rebellion of internal opponents allied with the empire and the Czech kingdom. Of great influence was also Boleslaw II's conflict with Stanislaw, Bishop of Krakow, in the course of which the king lost the support of the Catholic Church.
