Don’t be fooled by the knockoffs out there that are painted on a cheap mat. This is laser engraved by a machinist on a hand selected coir mat that will last for years in any weather. Simply put, a painted rug looks nice until you use them. A laser burned rug stands up to the rigors of foot and paw traffic alike. Unlike a painted rug where the design is on the top surface, a laser burned rug design darkens the individual fibers of the rug where the design is, in addition to removing excess fibers to give contrast.
