This is one of a number of 18-19th Century long case clock dials and movements which are from the extensive collection that belonged to the late Eric Morton 1945 - 2019. I know very little about clocks and know little jargon relating to them. Any questions please ask and I will answer them as best I can.
All items are for spares - repair only and may have bits missing but I know that some NON clock collectors only want a dial to hang on a wall as a furnishing with their surname or a local place name etc. all are A/F = as found.

This is an antique long case clock silvered dial and partial movement on the back. It is named George Miles Horton at the bottom.
The piece is made from silvered brass with decorative engraved pictorials on the corners and background.
The corners are engraved with urns full of flowers and the background is engraved with a shoreline scene with a ship on the sea and an old building on the land.

This dial has Roman numerals along with Arabic number round the edge.
It has a crescent shaped dial in the centre bottom for showing the date.
It has handmade pierced iron hands.
The movement is still attached to the back but I have no idea if it would be in working order.  The movement is quite a bit newer than the dial. So it has been replaced or refurbished at some time in its life.

In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. There are surface scuffs and scratches. There is also a little circular shaped dent near the number 1.
The black enamel/paint is textured and funny-looking on some of the numbers and it is also chipped in places.
Please see pictures for more details and visual confirmation of condition.

It measures approx. 12 inches x 12 inches in total.
The dial measures approx. 10 inches in diameter.

These dials are very heavy and the shipping price reflects this so please take this into consideration when buying.
