MG90S Servo – Metal Gear 360 Degree Continuous Rotation Servo

Unlike normal servos that can be commanded to an exact position within a range of about 180  degrees, these 360 degree continuous rotation servos will rotate continuously in either direction with no ability to position it to a particular position. Kind of like small DC motors with a motor controller built-in that powers the motor and that allows you to start  / stop and control direction of rotation.

The MG90S servos feature metal gears and  a full ball bearing the max speed of rotation is about 120rpm. The servos can be attached to a varying PWM source such as the throttle channel and the rotation speed of the servo can be varied from 0 to full rotation, forwards and backwards.

These servos are great for driving wheels on a micro-robot, operating a small winch or if you just want to make something spin.

The servos have a pulse width of approximately 1500uS (PWM value of about 185) will cause the motor to stop. A higher PWM value higher than around 195 will rotate the motor in one direction while a lower PWM value lower than around 175 will cause the motor to rotate in the opposite direction. If the PWM value drops below about 500uSec (PWM value of 62), the motor will also stop due to insufficient drive.
