South Australian Preserved Locomotives, by Steve McNicol

Published by Railmac in 1981, 32 pages. A5 size booklet (A14BK3)

From the introduction: In South Australia, as in most states, there are numerous locomotives preserved, either as working examples on some privately operated restored railway, or, more commonly, as a static exhibit in a park or playground. The various railway preservation societies produce excellent publications relating to their own collections, but this book has been produced in an attempt to cover all locomotives in one volume. Only locomotives of 2ft. gauge and over have been included. Mile End Railway Museum houses the most comprehensive range of locomotives in South Australia, but for those interested in 'live steam' the following three groups operate various engines on tourist and enthusiast trains.

The condition of the booklet is generally good. The covers have some minor scuffs, and light creasing and wear along the edges (including a crease running across the top right hand corner), but the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and bound. There is an old price sticker on the rear side cover.

When we post our books, we take great care in packaging them - first your book will be wrapped in bubblewrap, which protects the book and even keeps out any rain (in the event that it's raining when the postie delivers it!). Then we wrap your book in stiff cardboard, taking care to make sure all the corners are protected, and finally the package is wrapped in thick brown paper.
