NEBRASKA IN THE 1890’s
M-14470: (Image: 19 x 25 7/8” – Paper size: 21 3/8 x 28 1/8’’) [Nebraska] New York & Chicago: Rand, McNally & Co., c.1898. From Rand, McNally’s Indexed Atlas of the World. Large color-printed map with original color and centerfold as issued. Copyright dated 1898 in lower left corner.
This detailed map depicts Nebraska with its counties named and in contrasting pastel colors. Topographical features are well noted, with major railroads (each stop noted) and water routes identified. Survey grids and plats referencing the work of the US Land Survey are also delineated. Indian Reservations to the north of the state are also shown. A very informative view of the area as it existed in the 1890’s.
Original map about 120 years old, not a reproduction - in nice
condition as shown in the photos. It
comes with a certificate of authenticity.
