Hyakunin Isshu is a poet Fujiwara no Teika who lived in Ogurayama, Kyoto during the Kamakura period, and selected the most representative waka poems of 100 people one by one.
The poems of the representative poets of about 600 years from Emperor Tenji to Shuntokuin are arranged in chronological order.
All of these hundred heads are selected from ten collections of Japanese poems such as "Kokinshu" and "Shinkokinwakashu".
Of the 100 songs, there are 43 love songs, and in the season, the autumn song is the most selected among the 16 songs.
Of the 100 people, 21 are female poets and 15 are monks.
