On offer is an undated (Civil War era, 1862-65) Sutler Scrip Note in the amount of $0.05 issued by J.R. Bostwick as sutler to the 11th New York Cavalry Regiment ("Scott's Nine Hundred"). The note is in estimated Almost Uncirculated condition.

The 11th New York Cavalry, originally the Thomas A Scott United States Volunteer Cavalry and known as Scott's Nine Hundred, was formed in 1862 on Staten Island, NY. It was the only New York State cavalry regiment to serve in the South during the Civil War.
