Sea Planes and Flying Boats of the Solent, edited by Adrian B Rance
Published by the Southampton University Industrial Archaeology Group in 1981, 64 pages. A4 size booklet (N7813X1)
This booklet provides a history of sea planes and flying boats operating in and around the Solent, and is illustrated throughout with lots of black and white photographs (most showing the planes). Sections include the early years, the Schneider Trophy, and flying to the Empire, and the aicraft featured include the Supermarines, the Southampton, the Sea Eagle, the Empire class, the Short Sandringham, and more.
The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The covers have one or two very minor scuffs but are clean and tidy, the spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
When we post our books, we take great care in packaging them - first your book will be wrapped in bubblewrap, which protects the book and even keeps out any rain (in the event that it's raining when the postie delivers it!). Then we wrap your book in stiff cardboard, taking care to make sure all the corners are protected, and finally the package is wrapped in thick brown paper.
