The actual artwork measures 4" x 6" and is printed on heavy paper measuring 6 1/8" x 10" with nothing printed on the reverse.
This is absolutely guaranteed to be an original 19th Century steel engraving, not any type of modern reproduction.
The previous owner penciled "1852" lightly on the reverse.
No artist or engraver is credited.
My assumption is that this was from a publication such as The Ladies Repository.
I originally purchased thi2 work about twenty years ago because of my interest in the Hudson River School Era of American Art. In particular, Thomas Cole painted this identical view during one of his European painting trips.
In very good condition, as illustrated.
