Use these test needles to compare acid reactions with gold items to be tested. Choose a karat needle, rub or scratch the needle against a test stone, and make a rubbing or scratch with the item to be tested next to it. Place a drop of testing acid across both marks, and carefully observe the reaction to the acid. If the scratch or rubbing made by the item being tested reacts the same as the test needle scratch or rubbing, you could infer that the karat of the item being tested is the same as the test needle. If the item being tested dissolves quicker than the comparison test needle mark, the gold content of the item being tested may be a lower karat than the test needle used. If the item being tested dissolves slower than the comparison test needle mark, the item being tested may have a higher karat than the test needle used.
Please note this kind of gold testing is entirely subjective and requires careful observation and practice to master.

GENERAL RETURN POLICY
If you are not satisfied with the item(s) purchased from us, you may return your item(s) in original condition for a refund within 14 days of receipt after contacting us. No returns will be accepted for any reason after the 14-day period.
Items returned in unused, original condition, you will receive a 100% refund. Returned merchandise must include all packaging, along with included contents and accessories, bonus items, documents or paperwork, and Proof of Purchase in order for the full refund to be honored. Please read the entire product description. Items that do not fall within the manufacturer's return or exchange policies cannot be accepted for returns or refunds.
The customer is responsible for shipping costs on any returned merchandise.
There will be no refunds or exchanges for used gold testers or any testing liquids (gold testing liquid, acids, R.I. liquid, gel refills).

DAMAGED/DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE:
If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, contact us within 2 days. If you receive merchandise with extensive damage to its packaging upon arrival, please refuse the order and contact us immediately. In such an event, we recommend that you contact the shipper immediately to report the damaged goods.
WARRANTY:
All warranties are offered solely by the manufacturer. If you want to return an item more than 14 days after you received it from us, you will need to contact the manufacturer, which we can assist you with.
