VINTAGE BLUEBIRD FLORAL SIGNED & NUMBERED POTTERY PLATTER. VERY, VERY NICE.

UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS STUNNING PIECE OF POTTERY. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL FLORAL AND BLUEBIRD PLATTER. SIGNED BY PURITA AND NUMBERED #192.

I tried to find more information on this piece, but was unable too.

Looks like a clay base due to the chip on the side, and fired with a ceramic handpainted front and back. No markings on the back. Front is marked "PURITA with 192".

I am assuming "Purita" is the artist, but I have no idea who the maker is. I purchased this at an estate sale, and no other information was known, was just told it was "old".

Very Nice vintage condition.

Features a very nice edging with blues, yellow, and mauve/brown design. Interior scene is of a bluebird or possibly hummingbird crested above some eggs. Foliage and florals complete the piece.

There are a few issues with this Large Platter. Small chip on the side where the brown is exposed, another small rub mark on the glazing but does not expose the pottery. Brown spot on the hill where the bird is standing (I believe this was done during the firing process), the spot is extremely minimal.  Also some lines, I do not know if this is crazing, or just from usage. Looks like it could possibly be from usage--as possibly this platter could have been used to cut meat, or desserts. Initially when I purchased it, it was on a plate hanger and was used as a wall decoration. Even with the flaws, this platter is still stunning. You do not notice those flaws unless you are really looking hard. I always mention any flaws, issues, with any item that I have up for auction.

This is a stunning Platter, and Opening bid is starting LOW!!! I am not an expert in Pottery, but I know and have seen similiar pieces, and they have been much more costly.
